Common questions
- What does fee-only actually mean?
- Green Leaf is paid by clients and only by clients. No commissions and no payments from any fund or insurance company, so there is no product anyone is nudging you toward.
- How much money do I need to work with an advisor?
- There is no asset minimum. Green Leaf works with business owners and young families who are often early or busy, when much of their net worth is still in the business rather than in a large investment account. What you pay is for the planning work, shown in the tiers above, not a bar you have to clear to get in the door. The first conversation is free and there is nothing to sign.
- What happens on a first call?
- It is a conversation, not a sales pitch. You walk through what is going on in the business and the household, what is working, and what is weighing on you. Noah listens, asks questions, and tells you honestly whether Green Leaf is a fit. There is no cost, nothing to sign, and no obligation to continue.
- I already have an accountant, why would I need an advisor too?
- An accountant keeps the books accurate and files the return, mostly looking back at the year that just ended. A financial advisor looks forward and connects the pieces: how you pay yourself, your retirement plan, the business as your largest asset, and what eventually happens to it. The two roles work together, and Green Leaf loops your accountant in rather than around. Plenty of owners have a great accountant and still have no one looking at the whole picture.
- Do I have to move my investments to work with you?
- No. Planning work stands on its own. If it does make sense to move an account, you will hear the reason first and the timing is yours.
- Do you work with my CPA and attorney?
- Yes. For a business owner the tax return, the operating agreement, and the investment plan are one conversation, so those professionals get looped in rather than worked around.
