What the health check looks at

Most financial checkups look only at investment accounts. For someone who owns a business that misses the larger half of the picture, because the business is usually the biggest asset, the least liquid one, and the one every other decision depends on.

These eight questions cover the areas where the business and the household actually meet: how long the company could cover payroll without new revenue, whether there is a retirement plan and whether anyone reviews it, what happens to the business if the owner cannot work for six months, when taxes get discussed, whether the will and beneficiary designations are current, whether investments are rebalanced on a schedule, whether one written plan covers both sides, and how charitable giving gets decided.

Each answer scores zero, one, or two, so the result is a simple score out of sixteen with a breakdown by area. The point is not the number. It is seeing which areas came back thin, because that is usually where the next conversation belongs.

Who it is for

It is written for owners of small businesses: contractors, shop owners, practice owners, family businesses, anyone whose company and personal finances have never really been separate. Green Leaf Advisors works with owners across Clarion County and the surrounding counties in western Pennsylvania.

There is no cost and nothing to sign. You can take the results to your own advisor, your CPA, or bring them to a first conversation here.

Common questions

What is a business owner financial health check?
It is a short self-assessment that scores how well a business owner's finances are covered across eight areas: cash reserves, retirement plans, succession, tax planning, estate documents, investment oversight, having one written plan, and charitable giving. It takes about three minutes and returns a score out of sixteen with a breakdown by area.
How long does the health check take?
About three minutes. There are eight questions, each with three options, and your results appear as soon as you finish.
Is the health check free?
Yes. There is no cost and no obligation to work with Green Leaf Advisors afterward. You are asked for an email so your results can be sent to you, and Noah is notified that you took it so he can follow up if you would like. Your results also appear on screen straight away, so you keep them either way.
Why does a business owner need a different financial checkup?
Because for an owner the business is usually the largest asset and the least liquid one. A standard checkup that only reviews investment accounts misses payroll coverage, succession, entity and tax structure, and the concentration risk of having most of your net worth tied to one company in one industry.
What happens after I get my results?
Nothing automatic. The results show which areas came back thin and why each one matters. You can take them to your own advisor or CPA, or bring them to a free first conversation with Green Leaf Advisors.
Is this financial advice?
No. The health check is educational. It makes no projections, no performance claims, and no recommendations about specific investments or strategies. For guidance on your own situation, speak with a qualified professional.
